Sacramento Yellow Jackets Player & Parent Expectations
As proud members of the Sacramento Yellow Jackets organization, all players and parents
are expected to uphold the highest standards of commitment, respect, and sportsmanship
both on and off the court.
Player Expectations:
• Attendance: Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices, games, and team
events.
• Communication: Notify your coach in advance if you are unable to attend a practice, game,
or event.
• Commitment to Growth: Players are encouraged to seek additional training opportunities to
improve their skills and overall game understanding.
• Playing Time: There are no guaranteed playing time rules in AAU/Travel basketball. Playing
time is earned through effort, attitude, and performance.
• Tournament Participation: Players are expected to attend all travel tournaments their team is
registered for.
• Registration Requirements: All players must complete the official player registration form
and submit all required documents before participating.
• Conduct: Players must always demonstrate respect toward coaches, teammates, officials,
and opponents—both on and off the court.
• Social Media: Players are representatives of the Sacramento Yellow Jackets program at all
times. Posts, comments, or messages should reflect positive sportsmanship and respect.
Parent Expectations:
• Support & Sportsmanship: Encourage your child and the team in a positive manner. Refrain
from negative comments toward players, coaches, or officials.
• 24-Hour Rule: If you have a concern or issue, please wait 24 hours after a game or practice
before addressing it with the coach. This allows time for reflection and respectful
communication.
• Commitment to Team: Ensure your child attends all practices, games, and tournaments as
scheduled.
• Volunteer Requirement: Parents are required to complete all assigned volunteer hours to
help support team and club operations.
• Representation: Remember that parents also represent the Sacramento Yellow Jackets
community. Maintain professionalism and respect at all events and online.
